Description
SSOCC: distinguish resistance from heating mode
These Kangertech SSOCC heads contain organic cotton and come in packs of 5. They replace the coil in a Toptank Mini tank. The available choices are the 0.5 Ω version and the Ni 0.15 Ω version.
Check the mode before using the coil
- The SSOCC 0.5 Ω runs in variable wattage mode, following the instructions specific to the head received.
- The Ni 0.15 Ω requires temperature control compatible with nickel. Do not use this version in wattage mode.
Examine both the coil markings and the functions of your mod. The SSOCC name alone does not determine which mode to select. If you change versions, repeat these checks before switching the device on.
Replacement and soaking
Follow your tank's disassembly procedure to reach the used part. Clean the accessible contacts and inspect the seals. Wet the cotton in the new head, fit it without forcing it, then fill the tank. Allow the liquid to penetrate the cotton before heating, and check for leaks after reassembly.
